Mary E. Thompson Middle School, located in the suburban communities of Southfield and Lathrup Village, Michigan, is a modern and updated facility that services students in grades 6-8. Thompson is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges. This means that our school meets nationally recognized standards for quality. In addition, we have been recognized for excellence with an Exemplary School designation from the Department of Education.
Many aspects of Thompson are not universally available in other schools. Some of the Thompson pluses include: talented and gifted education, special education, small class sizes, media center, cultural enrichment, three computer labs, intervention programs for "at-risk" students, summer remedial/enrichment programs, after school tutorial sessions, updated and regularly replaced textbooks, and a well maintained building that enhances the neighborhood. Thompson offers comprehensive support services that include counseling, speech pathology, social work and psychology.
Schoenhals/Thompson K-8 Academic Campus seeks to become an IB World Campus and join the community of state, private, national and international schools from every region of the world. These are schools that share a common philosophy-a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that this school believes
is important for our students.
