Vocal Music Success!
The Michigan School Vocal Music Association Regional Honors Choir performance took place at Pioneer High School on December 7, 2013. 160 students from southeast Michigan performed. Senior Lindsey Hoper is moving up to State Honors Choir. Congratulations to Lindsey and Choir Director Mr. Jeff Martin!
IB Junior Induction Ceremony - Highlights
42 S-L Juniors received pins and certificates at the 2nd Annual IB Induction Ceremony held on Wednesday December 4, 2013 in the Media Center. Of the 42 students, 23 are pursuing the complete IB Diploma.
The Helping Hand Volunteered at The Detroit Free Press/Talmer Bank Marathon
The Helping Hand Community Service Club attended the Free Press/Talmer Bank Marathon in downtown Detroit on Sunday October 20th. Seniors Amani, Frank, Paige, Khary, and Sophomore Ezana along with Mrs. Maas, volunteered at the marathon from 6:00am until around noon. The students passed out water and offered encouragement as the bikers, runners, and walkers made their way through the course. This is the 36th year for the marathon that has helped to raise money for dozens of charities and service organizations.

Ms. Anne LaSovage & members of the S-L Green Team received Michigan Green School “Emerald” Level (15-19 Points) for the 2012-2013 school year! Debby Dunn, the program coordinator, told Mrs. LaSovage "It takes extra time, effort, planning, and drive to implement the initiatives outlined in the Green Schools Program. We appreciate your involvement and leadership in coordinating the Green Schools program as well the efforts of the students, staff, parents, volunteers and school community." Congratulations to Ms. LaSovage and her team!
