Title 1
Ms. Mary Jo Shoup
Hello! My name is Mary Jo Shoup. I am the Title I teacher at Vandenberg World Cultures Academy. I have been teaching since 1988 but this is my first year in the Southfield School District. I have spent a majority of the past 32 years as a Kindergarten teacher. My undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education and I have a Masters in Early Childhood Education.
During the school day I meet with small groups of students to support them and to help increase their abilities.
I believe it is important to teach the whole child. Children are much more than their academic skills. As an interventionist I help the children reach their potential and to become lifelong learners.

Greetings to Everyone. I am the School Social Worker at Vandenberg World Cultures Academy. I am a Master Clinical Social Worker as well as a School Social Worker certified by the State of Michigan. I have been a School Social Work for 25+ years working with children and families over the years from Early Childhood to Center Based High School. I have been fortunate enough to be the Social Worker for the past 4 years at Vandenberg. As a School Social Worker, I am always excited about getting to know the students and families and look forward to being a resource to address barriers to academic success. I hold dearly that I serve as the vital link between home, school and the community.
